CatChek®: Boosting Mid-Con Production
Project Profile
- Location & Asset: Anadarko Basin (Canadian County, OK) | Woodford Shale & Meramec
- Evaluation Dataset: 51 Treated Wells vs. 414 Untreated Regional Offsets
- Application: Remediation of Water Blocking & Matrix Imbibition
- Key Outcome: +51.7% 12-Month Cumulative BOE Uplift; +71% Same-Pad EUR Uplift
The Challenge High-clay, water-sensitive formations in the Anadarko Basin suffer from severe phase trapping (water blocking), impairing hydrocarbon relative permeability and restricting long-term gas and condensate inflow.
The SciDev Solution Deployed CatChek® MSS to alter matrix surface energy, inducing spontaneous imbibition that draws trapped load water deeper into micro-pores and opens high-permeability pathways for oil and gas recovery.
Results & Operational Value
- Basin-Wide Production Gains: Expanded baseline recovery from 26,898 BOE/1k ft to 40,812 BOE/1k ft (+51.7%) at 12 months.
- Isolated Pad Control: Delivered a +53.8% total BOE uplift and +71% EUR improvement on an isolated same-pad well pair.
Direct Revenue Impact: Generated +$390,000 in monthly incremental revenue per well (at $70/bbl WTI).
